The inaugural episode of Alice Isn’t Dead is a pedal-to-the-metal adrenaline rush. A lot of information is given to us. A bad guy, a vampiric homicide, a truck full of deodorant, and of course, Alice are all introduced. Puzzles are given. I am looking forward to exploring this world more in future episodes.
SPOILERS: Our host begins the story at a diner. A fellow patron eats an omelet. Riding in a truck is like riding on a horse. We learn the host of the show is a truck driver hauling travel-size deodorant. The night sky is beautiful. Outside the diner, the thistle man takes a bite out of Earl to prove he can. The host pulls away from the diner. The thistle man is following her other places; diners, rest stops. Did Alice know something about the thistle man? We need to find Alice before the thistle man finds us.
I know that doesn’t make any sense. That’s because the first episode is fast paced and alternates between driving down the road, and a scene at a diner. This “thistle man” is introduced as our first bad guy, as he murders someone in a parking lot of a diner.
Hopefully this story keeps up this pace, I loved it. This episode is a rush. Listen to it. Episodes of Alice Isn’t Dead can be found here.
